no i dont have a bent knife so i used the angle crinder small wheel to hollow out, the rest was done with the axe and knife. i found it quite relaxing, but the oak was tough to cut so next time i think i might use a softer wood.

Very nice, Oak is a sod to carve but that spoon should last you a life time.

its already come to good use and is in the kitchen draw, thing is i am itching to make another - i could see it becoming addictive.

It's an area I have been interested in getting into for a while, but you spin the bowl to go with them, don't you?

i have a nice graduate bowl lathe but its gathering dust at the moment as i have had to fill the shed with family clutter
