Clacton Hand Axe

Post by grendel on Sat Jun 20, 2015 11:27 am

Anyone been practicing knapping on the beach? If so you dropped your hand axe. closer to two weeks old than 200,000 years, I'd say.

I am fond of pigs. Dogs look up to us. cats look down on us but pigs treat us as equals.

Stupidity got us into this mess, why can't it get us out

thats a great find if its genuine but he may of made it himself, you would of thought it would be a bit more weathered in the sea for so long even if in mud or a sand bar.

In the sea it should be blunt, also there's no patina and it's a terrible quality knapping job. I think most likely someone learning knapping made it and left it there.
