Check out the link from Grendel below, there is a picture of the alphabet about midway down. It's very impressive.

Found this, it's by a Brandon Knapper, was found alongside Bill Basham's(of the alphabet fame) flint rings, so most likely by him too.

It's most likely the oldest surviving example of an arrowhead by a modern knapper, probably from around 1900, showing just how long ago the techniques were recovered.

In reference to the flint ring thread, if memory serves me Jeff Flenniken, one of Don Crabtree's proteges (he took over the Crabtree Fieldschool after Crabtree passed), used to make obsidian rings as a novelty. He would knock off a large spall from a nodule, laying this flat on the ground, he would fire a large steel BB or ball bearing at the center of the spall using a slingshot! The BB striking the spall would set up an incipient hertzian cone in the center of the spall. Thinning the spall using a bifacial reduction, the incipient cone would eventually detach, leaving a hole in the center of the biface. He would then use indirect percusion to enlarge the hole and pressure flaking to reduce the outer mass until he had a uniform ring. I am sure there are several ways to accomplish this task.
