Exquisite Mesolithic Microlith Find
Tiny Mesolithic microlith from a new site I'm investigating. Litterally seen in the leaf litter of the forest floor- a very lucky find indeed. The knapping skill is second to none- I counted no less than 15 retouch marks on the 'glueing' side. Only 16mm long, I believe it was intended to be part of fish harpoon.

Very nice knapping indeed. I've made a lot of them. The main problem is finding a tool strong enough to flake the flint but also be incredibly thin.

Bang on, you couldn't get any more Mesolithic than a good example of a backed sub-triangular microlith. Well spotted that man.
Classic fine retouch from both faces on the "nibbled" edge.
