knappable material near nottingham

Does anyone know where I can get knappable material near nottingham because it's so hard to find.

I don't know of any, the Barnacle is nearby to you so may know a source. 

There are several ways of finding flint. First is where there chalk there's flint. check out flint quarries in your area. Google search "chalk quarry Nottingham" ect. Here's one I found, searching "nottinghamshire chalk quarry".... http://www.countyweb.co.uk/yellow-stone-quarry-nottingham/ Also one quarry will general know of the business of other quarries in the area and be able to advise you.

A second method is builders who work in flint. Google search for builders in your are that build in flint or flint walls, as they will have flint nodules to sell.

I phoned the quarry up but it says the number doesn't exist.

your in the same situation as me - a good way from flint - bes would be to head over suffolk / norfolk way to one of the chalk quarries - however its an idea to keep an eye out at garden centres as some have large cobbles of flint for landscaping / building.

Needham chalks are good, not been to their Essex Quarry, but been to their Norfolk and Suffolk ones.
