Apparently works fine with broken beers bottles or anything. The medium could easily make a 4" x 2" slab and the large one a 6" x 2", and as thick as you like.

Apparently pottery kilns work fine for glass and are a bit cheaper, however this is even cheaper.

I have knapped some fused glass from Strata tiles, it's recycled green glass fused and cut into tiles... I'm sad to report that the flakes where very irratic and stumpy, the joins in the glass stop a flake dead, pity as the coloured effect would have looked amazing had it worked.
